Be careful what you ask for, you just might get it
Almost literally what it says. Be cautious about what you seek or demand because you might get it and it might not turn out the way you expect. I served on the board of an Internet game company that desperately wanted a shot-in-the-arm influx of new subscribers. Unbeknownst to the company, Microsoft named the firm's latest creation the "Game of the Day" and posted the honor prominently on the Microsoft website. In one day, more than 100,000 people tried to download the game, causing the firm's server to shut down, thus disconnecting the firm from the web, which is not a good thing when trying to earn a livelihood online.
